Cordy started her career as Executive Assistant to Dr. Robert Goodman, the inaugural Chair of UPenn’s Department of Radiation Oncology. In 1992, she was promoted to Dir of Dept Serv, and in 2008 to the role of Assoc Dir of Med Educ, a position created to recognize her impact and leadership in Penn's educational mission. It was during this time that Cordy founded the national Association of Radiation Oncology Program Administrators (AROPA), formerly (AROPC), and served as its President until 2018. She has served under four departmental Chairs, five Designated Institutional Officials and five University Deans. Cordy’s ongoing focus and passion has been to cultivate a foundation of excellence in our specialty’s educational programs locally, nationally and internationally. Cordy was the first UPenn employee to ever receive an ACGME Award of Excellence, and the only one to serve on the ACGME Advisory Coordinator Council. Currently, Cordy provides oversight to the Medical and Medical Physics Residency Programs, Medical Student Clerkship, Medical Physics Graduate Programs, and the Global Education Programs. Cordy has been instrumental in pioneering several innovative medical education programs. Cordy has also served her community for the last 40 years. She is the founder of Tommy’s Home of Camden, NJ, which is a 501c3 faith based restorative project that will provide housing, trauma informed counseling and a caring community of support for women and their children who are survivors of sex trafficking (Tommyshome.com). Most recently, she founded the Community Alliance for Development (CADphilly.com), which is a 501c3 community organization that is focused on helping the Senior and Youth underrepresented minority population of West Philadelphia. Her desire to serve program administrators and the underserved communities demonstrates excellence in leadership to the profession and to the community. Cordy is married to Robert Baffic, and together they have 4 daughters and 7 grandchildren.
