Dr. Sara Alcorn, MD, MPH, PhD, is an Associate Professor and the Vice Chair of Clinical Strategy in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Minnesota. She specializes in the treatment of breast tumors and sarcom as well as the delivery of palliative radiotherapy. She received her undergraduate degree from Cornell University in Biological Sciences and Sociology. She attended medical school at Harvard University, where she also earned a Master in Public Health. Dr. Alcorn completed residency in Radiation Oncology at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, where she served as the chief resident during her fifth year of oncology training and practiced as an Assistant Professor. She is now the Director of Palliative Radiation Oncology at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Alcorn focuses her research on the improvement of clinical outcomes and quality of life in the fields of breast, sarcoma, and palliative radiotherapy. She also conducts research in translational epidemiology, using web platforms and other novel strategies for data visualization to characterize radiotherapy access in the US.
