Purpose: This presentation discusses the importance and impact of patient experience within a Radiation Oncology department.
Methodology: The speaker will share how patient experience impacts not only themselves but staff, family, friends, caregivers, and how patient care is individualized and unique to each person. Building connections, department rounding, clear communication, and continuous follow ups are all key components to delivering a holistic experience to our patients. Creating an environment that thrives and exceeds the patients wants, needs, and expectations.
Results: Department leaders will hear options of providing structured interviews with staff on how to provide “above and beyond” care to each patient, as well as personal experiences. The speaker will present a variety of ideas to share and pass around course of actions to help your team envision ways to improve each patient’s encounter.
Conclusions: Attendees will leave with an overview of how to enhance patient experience to set your team apart from the rest.
